SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26: Voice Activation Retreat

An in-person retreat to activate healing, vibration, listening, and resonance with the throat chakra.

The Voice Activation Retreat offers a combination of somatic practices, vocal techniques, and group dialogue for an embodied experience to activate our throat chakras with power and heart. We will work with the breath, meditation, tension release, tuning, listening, vocalizing, singing, and supportive conversation to harmonize the throat chakra with the rest of our body.

By activating the voice in alignment with courage and love, participants will be better equipped to raise the impact of our voices in ways that are healthy for our physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies. The retreat will include creating and learning songs and enchantments for healing the heart of humanity. We will cast our vocal spells on a walk in the woods where we will sing for the trees and release in Grandmother Cherry Sanctuary‘s Voice Activation Portal.

This retreat is designed to support your ability to speak your truth, listen with empathy, advocate for your needs, sing with conviction, bring your voice into more conversations, and help you speak up when harm is being caused or when justice needs to be addressed.

Open to all identities, this intimate retreat will cap at 8 participants.

The Voice Activation Retreat is facilitated by EmpowR founder, Rae Carter, drawing from her own experience as a singer, speaker, advocate, truth speaker, career communicator, and cancer survivor. Rae will build upon the Voice Activation Class she facilitated in the Fall of 2021 to offer this spacious full day retreat to support you in activating your voice and empowering your ability to communicate from the heart.

Flow of the Day
Most of the retreat will take place inside, in circle and in small groups. There will be an outside component so please be prepared for being in wintery weather. Please plan to arrive prior to the retreat start time to park and settle into your space in circle.

Food/Drink
Hearty vegetarian soup and bread will be provided for lunch. Please bring something to share if that feels nourishing to you. You are also encouraged to bring additional snacks that meets your dietary and energy needs. Mountain water and herbal tea will be available.

Location
We will gather in the brand new Sanctuary Room at Grandmother Cherry Sanctuary in Plainfield, Vermont. The Sanctuary Room is located on the second floor. Please learn more about the sanctuary vision which includes plans for how we can make the sanctuary physically accessible. Please bring what you need to support yourself in circle. There is a friendly dog and cats on the premise who may participate at times. Grandmother Cherry Sanctuary is located on mountain roads.

Reciprocity

Option 1) Pay the fee – $177

Option 2) Pay the fee and add a “tip” to contribute to the EmpowR Equity Fund
to pay for scholarships, stipends, and discounts for people with marginalized identities
and in low income situations to participate in EmpowR Transformation offerings.

Option 3) Request an equity discount or scholarship and send a message to receive a code.

Option 4) Engage in a trade. Attend at no cost in exchange for offering support to the sanctuary.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Life happens! If you are unable to attend, you can pay the cost forward to help someone else attend. You can also request a refund up to 24 hours in advance. Cancellation refunds include a small fee to cover credit card costs. No refunds for cancellations within 24 hours of a program.
