Nourish Your Nervous System
A restorative mid-week pause from work and life to tend to your emotional wellness and settle your nervous system in community
Nourish Your Nervous System is a bi-monthly rejuvenating space to care for your mind, body, and spirit in supportive community. This space is available to anyone who would benefit from a calming experience to support anxiety, overwhelm, burnout, and stress. People working as therapists, social workers, medical providers, holistic practitioners, health care workers and staff, and people employed at health and social issues focused nonprofits are especially encouraged to consider attending. Together we can foster empathy and community for our shared intentions of personal health and community wellness.
Intentions
- To empower giving ourselves permission to care for our emotional needs and tend to our hearts and nerves.
- To include health and wellness providers, practitioners, and workers in supportive space for communal empathy.
- To build culture around settling our nervous systems with the power of witnessing, listening, and sharing in community.
Details
Nourish Your Nervous System supports your ability to care for the emotional complexity of riding the waves of turbulence in our own lives and those of the people we support. Circle process facilitation will guide embodiment and somatic practices, listening to witness, sharing to be heard, and grounding into presence to hold space for our wholeness, mess, and uncertainty with love. Group agreements will center the safety of People of Color and those with other marginalized identities. You are invited to attend one or all in the series. While we are encouraging people who work in health and wellness to attend, this space is open to anyone who feels called to support their nervous system in a carefully tended community setting.
Facilitated by: EmpowR co-creators Stacy Burnett, a clinical social worker and therapist and Rae Carter, a dialogue facilitator and healing navigator offer this gentle space to pause, breathe, and release drawing from their professional backgrounds and shared experiences as breast cancer survivors.
