Wheel of the Year Ceremony

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1: Imbolc Ceremony

Celebrate the Pagan Holiday of Imbolc at Grandmother Cherry Sanctuary.

The light returns with the lengthening days, chirping birds, and fertility that conjures the promise of spring. We will walk upon the land at Grandmother Cherry Sanctuary, notice signs of life, and drink in seen and unseen possibilities of awakening. Then we will head inside for an intimate gathering to create an altar for the Celtic Goddess Brigid, write poetry and sing songs in her honor, and sip warming milky herbal beverages with medicinal plants grown organically at the sanctuary.

Imbolc translates to “in milk” or “ewe’s milk” in Gaelic and means “in the belly of Mother Earth”. In community we will feel into this meaning from the past and for the future with a guided visualization journey to support connection to our purpose in our drastically shifting world.

Join us on the land and inside for this nourishing Imbolc Ceremony to bring forth our inner flames to conjure resilience and community as we face climate crisis and systems collapse with heart, grace, and greater capacity to trust and find joy in moments of presence.

The EmpowR Transformation “Wheel of the Year” Ceremony series celebrates living in rhythm with the cycles of Nature (and our bodies which are a part of nature). We practice Pagan Earth-based spirituality in community and welcome people from any spiritual or cultural background. Our ceremonies are simple and invite anyone interested in connecting with Earth-based spiritual practices to remember our land-based roots before the harms of colonization severed our relationships with land and each other. We draw from the Celtic Wheel of the Year and Norse mythology as that is the ancestry of our facilitators and welcome all Earth-based spiritual practices and traditions in our cocreative space.

Wheel of the Year Ceremonies average 6-14 people depending on the time of year and are designed to be both intimate and expansive, always with spaciousness for emergence and flow.

Age
People 12 and older are welcome. Please do a separate registration for each person over 12. Please send a message if a discount would be helpful for a second member of a family to attend. Milking mothers and their babes are most welcome.

Timing
Please arrive, park, and use the facilities by 12:45 pm so we can begin at 1 pm.

Food/Drink
Please bring snacks as you feel called and a water bottle.

To Prepare
Dress for the outside part of the gathering and be prepared for more snow than in lower elevations. Bring candles and other offerings for the altar.

Location
We will gather at Grandmother Cherry Sanctuary in the mountains of Plainfield, Vermont on accessible dirt roads. The ceremony space is on the second floor up one flight of stairs. Uley, the Sanctuary therapy dog will greet you with friendly barking (how he says hello) and will join us along with Rider and maybe Sade (witch cats) for the afternoon.

Community Wellness
Please protect your health and the health of others by taking precautions the week before the event (masking in public, hand and surface sanitizing, rest and nourishment, etc.) Please take a COVID test the day of the event and only come if you are feeling healthy (tired and rundown is okay – we hope the event will nourish you as well). Masking at the event is welcome and optional. Thanks for doing your part to keep community safe and healthy!

Directions and additional information will be provided upon registration.
