Adaptability for Chaos: Resistance Magic Cohort

It’s Time to Get Witchy!

Roots of activism are in the medicines of our Pagan, ancestral lineages. This cohort invites you to lean into magic as a tool for resistance, joy, and imagination.

Join a community journey to activate collective power and build skills for adapting to the beauty and challenge of chaotic transformation. We will work with being in the consciousness frequencies of courage and trust to conjure a world we believe is possible and build magical resilience to resist oppression.

This cohort will provide content, conversation, shared learning, and embodied practices to empower a rhythm of living that can cultivate shifts in how we approach boundaries, expectations, conscious communication, time, and our interdependence with each other and our natural world.

Based in principles of emergent strategy and transformative justice, this cohort is for anyone who is practicing or interested in learning about reclaiming magic for collective healing and accountability.

Social and environmental justice witches, magical beings, and folks open to exploring magic of all genders and identities unite!

Meet Your Guide
Rae Carter Vermont

Rae Carter (she/ki) is a liberation witch, root worker, songstress, space holder, and web weaver. Her medicine draws from lived experience and relational practice in multiple lineages:

  • healing from a multi-faceted health and trauma crisis which included cancer and opened the pathways for consciousness transformation
  • 25 year career in communications and human behavior change for social impact
  • 7 years of intentional study and practice in the lineages of animist/indigenous/Pagan worldview,  Celtic and Norse ancestry, cultural somatics and somatic abolitionism, Reiki, and Western Tropical Astrology
  • a lifetime of holding space for complexity, remembering her Western European wise woman medicine lineage (energy medicine, herbalism, intuition & visioning), and infusing her gifts with nature elemental magic, movement, music & mystery
  • recognition of the violent history of Euro-centrism, institutional racism, systemic oppression & cultural appropriation in Western herbalism and the responsibility as a white-bodied herbalist to advocate for healing justice in EmpowR Transformation’s commitment to both moving forward and being accountable to transformative justice lineages & engaging in reparations as tender of a plant medicine healing sanctuary.

Session Design

Sessions are every Tuesday from 7:00-9:00 pm beginning May 6. We will cocreate a community container together to build relationship and shared learning. Sessions are designed around these content themes:

  • May 6: Identify magical tools, circle practice foundation, reclaim origins of and embrace evolution toward gender expansiveness, accountability and consent being part of – not separate from – acts of love and pleasure
  • May 13: Explore elemental magic and astrology (having a basic understanding of your astrological chart can be helpful – you can pull your chart from Astro.com and listening to Chani’s podcasts can be a supportive framework).
  • May 20: Create a Wheel of the Year nature rhythm strategy unique to your energy, roles, responsibilities, and joy
  • May 27: Embody play, music, movement, and cultural somatic practices
  • June 3: Build skills to advocate for your needs in relationship to community building, direct communication and boundaries, release expectations to create space for community and activist work, and to integrate cunning and cleverness in movement for resistance
  • June 10: Spellcast and divination magic for collective liberation and community resilience
